Come September I get to obtain one for Alabama but here they are free once you reach 65 or at 64 really so long as you will turn 65 during the license year. I think there might be a buck or so issue fee so I've bought my last hunting and fishing license here at home in Bama.

actually you have until september 30th to purchase the 50 dollar license and here in NY they moved the free well actually 5 dollar license up to 70.

I just bought lifetime sportsman, black powder and archery licenses.  Ouch, that hurt!  I can't afford to go hunting now LOL!  I kick myself for not buying these years ago. But, it was cheaper than buying them next month.

I bought my lifetime super sportsman as well. I'm 36 and will hunt and fish as long as I am able. The way I figure, it will pay for itself in 8-9 years or so.  Prices will probably only keep increasing

I just got mine today.  I was told that my back tag will be sent to me in the mail and in all future years I'll get my license by mail.  I didn't realize that with the Over 65 lifetime license you get turkey and doe for free.  I'm not sure if there is an additional charge for muzzleloader.

That free Doe is for the year you buy it. They will still charge every year. I just found out the hard way.
