Man arrested for shooting squirrels from his home

Police say a 51-year-old man who gunned down at least three squirrels from inside his home near N. Teutonia and W. Custer avenues Sunday surrendered to officers after the Milwaukee Police Department's tactical squad was called to the scene.

Neighbors who called police Sunday morning said the man was firing shots from his home between 6 and 8 a.m., according to Deputy Inspector Gregory Thompson.

The man surrendered about 10:40 a.m.

Officers found a gun inside the home and three dead squirrels in his backyard, Thompson said.

Thinking the SWAT team was called

because the hunter was shooting a gun inside the city limits. And yes, I believe tree rats are not in season right at the moment.

I meant to respond earlier, but I was shooting a bunny out the back window!. I guess he should have used a pellet gun and hid the evidence.

I shoot'em out of my pecan trees when ever Huff trees them. HOWEVER! I use a long barrelled rifle, and CB caps. Verwy, verwy cwyut.

And yes geography is a fact in today's U.S.A. I am surprised the Wisconsin National Guard was not called, and a drone air strike not ordered.

I wonder if Wisconsin will prosecute him as a "domestic terrorist"? I am sure some of his "squirrelly neighbors" will testify.

CB caps (named Cat Bullets in my book) rock, quieter than a pellet gun and much more deadly.

Should have just waited till afternoon. All the shooting going on it would have just blended in with the normal sounds, but he went and woke everyone up and that's what the fuss was all about.

There are los of places you can get away with, but in Milwaukee, no way. Man with a rifle shooting equals SWAT in any large city.

I recently shot a coyote out my back door with a 38, immediately put the gun away, and no one noticed. I have a neighbor just a driveway away on one side. Don't know what the penalty is, hope I don't find out....

I think I claimed that accomplishment earlier in this thread!

Now i'm no city dweller so when "things" happen here that I dont approve of, I make adjustments. and if the city does show up next door to me i'll make that adjustment also!
