Has GBO done it again!? Have my horizons once again been broadened by the insidious influence of this board!?

It all started slowly as most of these things do. I had some casting supplies and equipment; I've been casting RB's for my BP rifles for some time. But Lloyd's admonition about not casting unless you shot a lot of cast bullets made sense to me! A few RB's are one thing, but when you get into that lubin and sizin stuff you start talking money!
And I never shot that many cast bullets anyway! At least until now... you can thank GBO for that little endevor also!

But I can still buy all the cast bullets I need. Right?

Well, that little fact hasn't stopped me from scrounging up WW's whenever the oportunity arose! Now tell me, what do I need WW's for?

You can't shoot RB's made from them in ML's... But everybody was talking about how hard they were to find & you better get them while you can & and look how much they cost compared to the good old days... I naturally had to start accumulating some.

Then there was the discussion about "Hot Glue" bullets. I never heard of such a thing but what an idea!

Since I'm wanting to put a range in my basement for 22's and primer powered practice bullets, if I had moulds I could make all the practice projectiles I want!

Thanks Stimpy! Yah, thanks a lot...

Well guess what happens next! One of our members decides to sell off his daddy's lifelong accumulation of casting supplies!

Next thing I know I own a forty-four and a forty-five mould.

Okay fine. Glue and Wax bullets here I come!
But no real casting for me! Oh NO Sir! Not me. Nope! Not with the prices of sizers and seaters and punches and heaters and all that stuff!

But one of my new moulds did have 2 bullets in it and I sure wanted to try a .454 bullet in my '73. Some member said they shot great in his. I just need to find a way to lube them. Well let me tell you, that hand lubing is a pain and I ain't gonna do it again!

But there are other ways! And they were discussed here... complete with U tube vidios that members so graciously pointed out to me!
Strangely enough, and speaking of bullet lube, about this time there was a thread going on about making your own!

Now that looked pretty neat!

So the great beeswax hunt began! I covered Dixie like the dew looking for that stuff and finally found a supply a couple of miles from my house.

The next thing you know I have a couple of pounds of bullet lube moulded into little cakes all stacked up.

Oh, BTW, if you do this, don't use the vasoline you get from the Infant's Supplies section of the store. That 2 pounds of lube smells like a freshly powdered baby's butt!
Now about this time another member starts beating his keys together about increasing the diameter of his Lee sizing die...
So I look around. My casting table is all set up. Nice neat little cubes of lube and freshly smelted ingots of WW's, that I have no earthly use for, are stacked there, waiting to be put to use...

Well, as soon as the Lee sizing dies arrived...

I fired up the production pot! Shiney lead bullets fell like rain from the RCBS mould! The lot was viciously culled by visual inspection and balance beam weight but when I finished the survivors were a beautiful bunch to behold! Their little grooves were then filled with my own baby-blue lube,
don't ask
, and their firm bodies were squeezed through the Lee die, coming out a perfect .452!
I almost cried with joy! I spent hours looking at these marvels I had created! Each one was perfect! I felt god-like in my accomplishment!

They sit now, nestled in bright, shiney brass, waiting for me to take them to the range and unleash their currently stored potential! The anticipation is driving me crazy! I envision them flying down range into a tiny, one hole group. How could a creation of mine do less.
