223 bull, 1:9 twist,extractor yard sale find for $200

We just had "the World's Longest Yard sale" on 127 through where I live in TN. Found a mint #NWxxxxx 223 handi with bull barrel, nice wood stock,extractor, scope mount. Took it home excited, cleaning rod turns more than twice around-Yay! 1:9 twist. It came with 2 new boxes of PMC ball too for $200. Fun times loading ahead. Got Lee deluxe collet set and 200 primers ready,need bullets. Had 300x brass. Also had BSA signiture series 3X9-40 in rings from a 44 handi barrel I traded off. Had to move one ring??? I guess bases are different. Now if I should sell my 357's SB2 frame(barrel fits tight on 223) Hmmm? Aren't I lucky?

I must be the most unlucky guy here. I never can find a "buy" on a Handi rifle, new or used. Personally, I would not sell off any frame. I have two frames and 6 barrels, but it would be nice to have each barrel on it's own frame. As far as bases are concerned, there are more than one base offered for the Handi rifles. Look in the FAQ for the differences.

I never pay more than $200 for handirifles around here and usually get them with cheap scopes for that. My 357 had a 4x Simmons, sights,SB2 but a few scuffs, minor rust spots on the barrel-$200 local classifieds. It's the flat black frame though and the trigger is about 5#(223s is about 2.5#),but damn does it shoot! Trimmed Max brass to 1.485 inches to match the chamber but haven't got into developing a load for it yet, having too much fun cloverleafing 38s at 50 yards or popping spent 12 gauge hulls with 357s. I did swap the 357s sythetic stock with the 223s wood. Ruggeder, lighter, better shape but not nearly as pretty as the wood. I've got another stock to refinish/recontour already so sythetic it is. The 357 barrel will get a home on my next case colored shotgun frame. A guy's selling a 28 gauge nearby. Hmmm? Thought about pushing  some 54 cal lead balls over the wads. Another crazy idea.  223 needs some 200 yard proving first.
