I had posted mine when I did a little modifications. I added "medallions" made from cartridge cases to my Charles Daly single actions. They read TEXAS 357 Mag. I use these fine guns for SASS matches with really light loads.

Acusport Bisley in 45 Colt.  Had it for 4 years or so.  Great gun.  Shoots 300gr Beartooth bullets at 1200fps into 1.5 ".  Only mods are a Belt Mountain base pin and a poor man's trigger job.

Two Colts and a birdshead Uberti. Colts have real Ivory grips, the BH had Trueivory.  Just stuck it in 'cause it's a neet little gun.

Try this again.

These are my Colts.  BP frames, all blued, real Ivory grips from the same block of Ivory on both of them, caliber 45 colt.

Shaner!  I love the 'old' finish on that gun.  I hope to do that to one of mine some day, or maybe I'll just carry it until it looks like that!  :)  I wish!

My medallions were not much trouble. I cut off the heads of a couple of cartridge cases, a little less than an eighth of an inch past the rim. I drill out the primer sockets so a nail would fit in. I drilled a 3/8 hole in the grip using a forstner bit so it would have a flat bottom, went just deep enough for the case stub to fit up to the rim. Then I cut off some nails that came with curain rods, the round topped nails; made them just long enough to fit in and look like primers. I used expoxy to hold the medallions in place. I only put them on one side of each pistol so I can always put the same gun on the right or the left. THis whole project took less than half an hour. ::)

Here is my Single Six I've been wagging around since the early sixties. The grips are the rosewood grips off the Blackhawk shown in the thread about making your own pistol grips. They were a pretty crappy fit on either gun so I cleaned up the fit and finished them with clear gloss MinWax. This has been a really sweet little pistol. I have no idea of the number of rounds that have been fired thru it but it has been a LOT. It used to be my prairie dog hunting gun and I didn't even carry a rifle. It has never had a single problem.

I give up. I can't get the picture to link. I'll try something else.

the one thats the real handfull is the lightweight 45 colt. I wont tell you the load but it involves pushing a 320 grain bullet to about 1300fps out of that 4 inch barrel. With the standard blackhawk grip frame and the fact its so light it will draw blood on you if your not careful but it makes for a powerful holster gun that is light enough to forget your wearing it.
those are real nice, Lloyd. the 500's must be a real handful.
