Got the new girl yesterday!

  Picked up the new 357 mag yesterday, 2hr round trip but worth it. It is a CAC-0xxxx made in Ilion NY clean bbl hvy with rail & spur
 with the new checkered syns and to me ugly warning on right side( Warning-Do not exchange barrels with this firearm-357 mag 44Rem
 Mag or shotgun barrels only ) guess there will be no questions on this one! Anyhow rushed home, cleaned it up and put on a temp 3x9
 sportview and grabbed some 158gr reloads and some 38wc's and headed to the range. Could only get in at 50 yd but rough sighted and
 started kicking tennis ball around with both. I think its gonna be a winner.
         After getting home decided that I want it to be a max I tried it on a spare HX frame from a 45lc and it locked up beautifully so that
 is where it will live. My 44 mag will go on that frame it came off of. So hopefully next week after I get the reamers Maggie will become
 Maxie with a new scope & Lil Sister Hornet will become Miss Fireball ( love redheads ) and then back to range!   Fred

FRED    HOW YOU CONSIDERED REHAB. YOU HAVE A BAD CASE OF IT. BEST THING YOU CAN DO, IS GO TO THE REHAB CENTER AND GIT YOU A NEW SET OF GLASS FOR THE NEW LOVELY LADY. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT RELIEVE SOME OF THE STRESS.  HAPPY 4 U MY FRIEND.

  Thanks Jim, does it ever end, up to 13 handi's and 5 shotguns, a year and a half ago it was two of them, retirement & no wife to
account to have taken there toll but my kids and grandkids are just there smiling, let Pops enjoy it while he can. My goal is to enjoy
& then pass it on. Been to rehab & new glass is on the way, they were worried about my old eyes! Hope your Quest for the Whelen
comes sooner than later.
   Gendoc, will let you know how the fireball works out, just got a TC bbl and working on it now, so far love it.  Fred

Fred   You sound a lot like me. Been retired about 11 yrs now and no wife also. I lost my wife about 30 years ago. We stopped at a rest stop in Florida. Well I really didn't really loose her. I just never went back and got her. . It seems like the time is well spent with the grandkids. Just purchased a youth 20 ga bbl from a member this am. Grandson is only 5 yrs old. Took him to shoot his 243 with reduced loads and a 9 in stock. After shooting he said he was going to deer hunt with his bb gun. About 2 yrs ago I only had 1 Handi. Now there are 8, and I'm waiting to hear from REM concerning the 35W. I really need this in the worst way. I know that you totally understand this. This is my newest "get rich quick" scheme.

Fred, do the Maxi thing.  You're gonna love it.  My second .357 is going down to "Uncle Lyle" at Dick Williams Gun shop outside of Saginaw, MI.  The .44 mag is taking the same ride for a .445 Super Mag job.  They'll be on SB2 frames when they return home.

Der aint nuttin lak da .357 Max.
