Remington 7615
« on: August 12, 2009, 05:53:36 PM »
I just picked up a Remington Model 7615. It has matte steel with wood furniture. Anyone out there shoot one of these? I'd never seen one and I understend they didn't make many of them. I have a few AR's but really don't care that much for the "military" styling and I have a TON of 223's. Figured this thing might be a fun way to go thru some of it.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

I purchased one second hand last fall. This spring I took it along on a prarrie dog shoot. The other shooters were surprised how far out I was making consistant hits with my 7615.
As I said I bought it used with no manual, when I do not have a magazine in the rifle and raise the muzzle to vertical then lowerit  to pointing straight down the action rattles. There is a plate  that slides under the rear of the bolt... Is this normal?

I bought one new a couple months ago I haven't shot it much yet but yesterday I was busting cans with it at a hundred yards with the factory irons and about four diffrent ammo choices, I also emptied a 20 round mag as fast as I could with no problems. I think It will be a very fine rifle to have.     I have The 7615 Police Plastic stocks and parked 16.5" barrel.

Yep.  That part is called the stripper and it does move about fairly freely in the situation you mentioned.

Finally got to go out and shoot mine and I think I'll keep her. I ran three 30 round magazines thru it and seeding was 100% and it took prarie dogs out to about 200 yards when I did my part. Sure is a nice alternative to my AR.

Sounds to me like a good shooting rifle.  What type of ammo were you using?

I shot a bunch of FMJ Walmart specials but also put some of my reloads I built for one of my AR's. It did real well with both. Think it's going prarie doggin' this weekend. I have a couple hundred Barnes Varmint Grenades loaded up. Red Mist. It don't get no better than this.  ;D
