Apparenlty when the American people elected Obama president, they also voted in a new branch of the federal government. It appears as though Michele Obama has developed a parrallel exectutive staff that which is unmatched in American 1st Lady history. SO read on what the facists are doing inthe White House. While the economy is in drink and this president and congress blow our tax money like cocaine adicts, the first lady is following along in kremlin fashion.

There has never been anyone in the White House at any time that has created such an army of staffers whose sole duties are the facilitation of the First Lady's social life. One wonders why she needs so much help, at taxpayer expense, when even Hillary, only had three; Jackie Kennedy one; Laura Bush one; and prior to Mamie Eisenhower social help came from the President's own pocket.

This is the stuff that fires me up more than the stupid stimulis deals. All these D.C. politicians have more perks/benifits than anybody can ever find out about, costing taxpayers in the 10's of millions of dollars. Eliminate these costly do nothing jobs and save millions of tax dollars. gypsyman

No. Luara Bush's staff was no more than 2 at any point in time. Over the course of 8 years all of those may have worked for her, but never all at once. Michelle had ramped up her staff and all these people are one payroll at one time. This is a significant differance.

I like coming here to get the grassroots conservative take on the political landscape. I do enjoy commenting on what I consider misleading or false statements. I don’t care if I change your mind, I’m just throwing out some food for thought.
In this case, Michelle Obamas staff costs appear high. Is it that much higher than the norm. I don’t believe so. If you think Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush or Nancy Regan got by with a staff of one, I think you’re mistaken. The salaries I posted are for one year, as reported to the congress by the whitehouse. Fortunately this seems to be a hot topic and I’m sure there will be more about it in the future.
If you think the first lady shouldn't have a staff that's one thing, If you think it's just Obama I don't agree.

i rent from a fine black lady who is executor to an estate that includes the house i rent...they all live in maryland...
she was surprised when my wife mentioned we had been here a year..the guy that rented it to us said he was family ,,an got $5000,last yea,, rent from us last year...he told this executor we had moved in a month or so ago,,,she is angry...she said her mother tried continually to have the fella contact her...this from her death bed... so its my opinion no race has a lock on being sorry as heck. jmo slim

The second paragraph of my opening post acknowledges that prior first ladies had staff. But Michelle Obama has 10X the staff of most. I think that is severe & excessive. What the heck does any first lady needs that may staffers. SHe has more staffers than a US Senator. Its pathetic.

Whats fair , she goes under total observation from the world . Gives up any idea of privacy . Is what the world judges America with regard to taste and culture etc.
I don't like abuse either , and did not vote for her husban so i have no dog in the fight . To be honest i don't care for the way things are going .
But what is fair for her use of GOvt. funds ? Why did she have to fly to those places ? was the shopping a side trip or the trip ? was the date nessary and she was comming from other Govt. work she was expected to attend first ?
I encourage voicing opinion of her husban's deeds and such but it seems hitting below the belt to attack family , like stuping to demo tatics .
