you all keep saying you will be put on a list for one thing or another. THIS IS A WIVES TALE! And its always a friend of a friend that it has happened to. BS. As for FFL 4473 paper work 15yrs is how long they are saying we have to hold our 4473 forms. We can turn them in if we have so many that its a burden to store.  If the shop goes out of Business they have to turn over their forms to BATFE. If they are changing their FFL they can turn in their 4473 to BATFE. as far as NICS checks ALL DATA RECORDED THAT DAY MUST BE PURGED THAT DAY nothing can be retained. That is the law. When we do a 4473 and the person is delayed they give us a ref. #  when they call back. they only have the ref# and a yeah or neah answer they have no other information about the person. I know this because I have asked the the agent calling what name they had for that ref.# And they had no other information.  I am a Class 06 FFL, I work with an 01 FFL that is changing over to a 07 FFL with a class 3 title 2 Tax stamp. We stay up on the law changes we cant afford not to. This is how we make are living.

In 1974 when I was transferred from Germany to Spain I had to ship all the firearms I had shipped over and those I had purchased back to the States.  Since I owned well over 100 firearms it was a nightmare doing all the paperwork and getting the BTAF approval to ship the guns.  Once accomplished, a German moving company came to my house, looked at the guns and returned the following day with nice wooden crates to pack them in, a Military member serving as a US Customs officer was also there to check make, model and serial number of each gun.  They were packed and sealed and transported to be airlifted to the USA.  The guns were shipped to my step father’s address, he said he had a phone call from a nearby Navy base and made arrangements for the guns to be delivered on a Saturday.  On the agreed upon date one Nave officer and two armed enlisted personnel showed up at his house at about 8Am, about 9AM a BTAF agent showed up to “check things out.”  The crew had to unpack each gun and match the make, model and serial numbers with the gun, they finished about 4PM.  I shipped 117 firearms. Home.  In Spain as a registered International Pistol Shooter I could own five firearms, I purchased my allotment and they came home with me when I was transferred back to the States.  Since that time I have acquired another 40-50 guns and have traded a couple I had duplicates of but still most of my purchases.

I currently have two safes full and  finally reached the conclusion that I have all I need.  With so many new calibers on the market today I could fill two more safes if I went crazy, I am about to that point in life that I need to start unloading a few of them.

I wonder what kind of file they have on me?

Hell I've brought that many home in one shopping trip to the gun store before. Ain't no sich list.

I can tell you for sure, that here in Pennsylvania....THERE IS A LIST!!!....That is, there is a list kept by the PSP of guns sold by dealers. This "list" contains the names and address...ect, S\N and all info of the gun that was purchased.

Now, this list is not suppose to exist.....but ask any PSP and they will tell you it does. However, I once had an interesting conversation with a Pa. Sales Tax Agent. He stated they wanted to obtain this list in order to audit the gun purchases from internet transactions. The PSP will not give the PA Sales Tax Dept. the list. Why? Because you can't give something your not suppose to have. And....if you give it....you have now just admitted to keeping something that your not suppose to keep.

I don't know about any "LISTS" and I don't give a RATS BEHIND either!!! If anyone comes knocking at my door for my GUNS, they will wish they had never left their desk that day period. I am an AMERICAN, VETERAN and one who believes first hand in the Constitution our FATHERS signed into LAW.

AMERICANS are NOT going to fall for the BS or the so called politicians on capitol hill!!! There are two many of us with guns that will NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN......FACT.

Now over the years, I always tried to purchase at least one gun a year and one tool a week. Then after getting married to my Arkansas Beauty Queen, I decided to get her into the sport of hunting, fishing and shooting. She has her pistols and rifles and I have mine. It is a lot easyier Gents when the wife is at your side, doing what YOU like to do too.

I don't know of any list but there just might be such information on somebody's desk. My Pappy told me years ago, after highschool mind you, to purchase myself a tool a week and also purchase a gun at least every 3 years. Well, I did follow those guidelines more or less and have got plenty of tools and perhaps a gun or two I really don't need. Santa is bringing us another gunsafe for Christmas!

it seems to me that we're ALL registered, our birth certificates, irs forms, cars, mailing address, magazine subscriptions, email.. all of that is up for grabs, what the feds aren't SUPPOSED to do is actually conglomerate all of that info and your gun buying together into a go get guns and gun-owners thumbdrive/list and give it out to your local national guard

beyond a pogrom on gun-owning conservatives or invasions of privacy at random they already have the data floating around somewhere

think about the military though, they have rosters with all the info they can possibly have about any service member, you'll be lucky if your battalion has the right bloodtype and social security number in your paperwork before they deploy you.  I don't doubt the info is out there but coordinating it is unlikely to be successful if it was legalized, let alone successful on a covert level.  don't do anything online other than gripe and you'll be alright... the liberals can't get you for that (that's all they do to, they understand)

My days of buying and trading have just turned into days of buying.
I have purchased four this year--if I remember without getiing out of the chair too look. Sometimes I go a year.
Depends on what I want and if I can find it.
My next purchase may just be a .327 S&W or a K-frame that can be converted as I have read about.
That seems like a worthwhile project.

My next purchase may just be a .327 S&W...

That might be the ticket right there. I'm sort of catching the Smith & Wesson handgun bug. What I'd really like is a S&W .357 Mag, Stainless, with a frame size and weight about the same as a Ruger SP101, 2 1/2 inch barrel, full barrel under-lug, adjustable rear sights, and an assortment of available custom wood grips to pick from in the aftermarket. There is just so many to pick from, when I go to their website, I get overwhelmed. Then there's the lock thing. I don't really care for the key lock, so maybe I should look for an older version.

the TRR8 looks really cool... I've never had full moon clips though so although it sounds cool, I don't know about buying a fancy gun for that and a smoother trigger pull (other than that and MAYBE accuracy I'm good with my 608--check out maxfire speedloaders)

the new "tactical" mini-14's look good
RIA GI x2 so I have two spares
CZ SP-01
Marlin 1895 variants
80% or better condition AK-47's of any manufacture
Dragonov of any manufacture
.... oh I might need to start a new thread for this titled wishlist

I don't envy your wife, I bet the floor creaking at night keeps here awake (from the weight of the gun safe about to fall through and hit the basement)

so with so many.... what are your favorites (this year at least)

There BETTER NOT be a list. And you should be a member of NRA to help keep it that way. Sure don't want to go the way of UK and Australia.

I just bought #16 for the year tonight (not all handguns).

Just never enough.

I did buy a 1979 Covette last year when I got back from Afghanistan, I will say that for it, one is enough.  Lol

dude, are you doing all this professionally?  you should be... but I run my mouth a lot so I should be glen beck.. the world doesn't agree

I'm living too humble for a gun room, but I might just go and get a military style gunrack to lock them up in.. that might work good.

Took me 57 years to get to this point. For years I had the guns all over the house. Under beds, in closets, on walls, and lock boxes. My kids all left the nest so I converted one of their rooms to a vault. The last 4 years I decided I wanted all the guns I had wanted. So with the help of my computer I made it happen. Instead of geting 2.5% in the CD's I decided to convert some of them to guns.  I have always been a collector displayer.

yeah,... that's me with them laying around.  I'd like to set up one room specifically but we're gonna move when we're ready to have kids- decent house but not big enough.  also the basement leaks during torrential rain so I can't set up my loading gear there.
