THOSE AGAINST SOCIALIST INSTITUTIONS

military, public education, medicare, medicaid, social security, unemployment insurance...all socialist institutions already in place in the U.S.

Those of you that are against socialist instutions- will you be refusing medicare, medicaid, social security and unemployment insurance when the time comes that you will need them.

I would like to see the names of those who would REFUSE these socialists offerings.

   We vets like to reminisce now & then ?
        I see what you mean though Johnnie..there's some..corn bread on the table..so we may as well gorge ourselves and grow faty on corn bread.
   What concerns many folks is: it seems like those who most often gorge themselves at the table...don't bring any corn bread TO the table.
    Seems more and more our culture is dividing itself into two groups..the givers and the takers. Those who work for a living and those who live off others.
 
    BTW: Nearly all politicians belong in the latter group..

What he is saying is that his taxes have paid for the programs you mentioned, public schools, social security, medicare; therefore, he is a consumer - a capitalist consumer of these programs (It is a shame the administrator of these programs sucks, but that's a different story)

The moment they become socialist programs in a bad way, is when they go to serve those that could buy in, but don't because they are illegal immigrants or lazy slack azzes.

And to your original question - how can I refuse the military?  Are you talking the draft, or refusing their protection?

As long as I am able to pay my own retirement, and health insurance, and make my earnings I will not live off the public dole.  But I did pay into these programs, they are not free, and therefore I am not a mooch.  I am entitled to them because I paid for them, not because the government is being social.

You have an angle here.  Just spit it out son.

The military never was and never will be a socialist program.  I really don't get the other being socialist either. We pay for them and then use them as they are needed, You can refuse them if you wish, Socialism dosn't allow that.


BTW you can change the fonts and style on you computer to make it easier to read you don't have to be rude by using caps only. And yes it is rude to use caps only.

If I was given the choice I would opt out of Social Security, Medicaid, Unemployment.

I get the impression you're trying to trick people with some sort of, "Look at all these great things the government pays for, how can you oppose health care". 

Here's the problems:
1) It quickly became name calling because apparently you and Billy can't converse like adults
2) Typing all capitals is considered rude, whether you intend it or not.  Most people, including me, find it annoying.
3) You expect people to consider your opinion carefully and respond thoughtfully.  Bad assumption.
4) Your thesis is flawed because no two programs are the same.  Sometimes the program is a good one.  The interstate highway system is one of the best in my opinion.  Public colleges and junior colleges are also good.  Some are less efficient or serve purposes I don't care too much about.  Social security or unemployment would fit that bill for me.  I'd rather be able to opt out of both the payment and receiving of benefits because I know I can save my own money better than the government can save it for me.

If your angle was pro-healthcare you're better off focusing on the problems with the current system... there are plenty that no one can deny.  This round-about plan won't work.

dukkillr , I would agree . And would add when a program is used as a floor that no one falls below it is insurance . When it is to replace free trade it takes on a different smell. with regard to health care .

I can answer the question.
No I will not partake in any of those government programs, even though they took my money to fund them.
I do not consider myself a tax payer I am a victim of government payroll theft and extortion, and I refuse to jump through government hoops like a trained monkey to get my property back. I have provided for myself and should do quite well without any government programs.

Calling our military a socialist institution shows how ignorant your are, and is down right disrespectful. Go TO YOUR ROOM YOU SPOILED LITTLE BRAT!!!

Maybe a pool is in order before he reveals his answer?  Can I have, "on disability"?  The nature of my business is such that I interact with indigent people on a regular basis.  Disability is the new welfare, and almost none of them have an actual disability.
