No 45-70, You are welcomed and encouraged to post in the Wisconsin forum any time. It's just that in these parts, the concealed carry laws are a pretty touchy subject. As you may already know, Wisconsin and Illinois are the only two states in the union that have no form of concealed carry, and we are quite pissed about that fact.
The thing is, we had it whooped here in Wisconsin a few years back. Concealed Carry passed the legislature and went to Gov. Boyle's desk, but he vetoed it. Flat out refused to sign it. Then to add injury to insult, he justified the veto claiming that, "This bill doesn’t create a single job, doesn't help a single Wisconsin citizen afford health care, and doesn't improve schools for a single Wisconsin child." He went on to say, "It’s time for the Legislature to get back to the serious work of solving problems that face Wisconsin families, instead of catering to the wishes of extremist special interest groups." Doyle also stated, "That is why earlier today I took my veto pen, and used it to stand with law enforcement to keep lethal weapons away from our schools, businesses, and communities." But he wasn't the only one to turn on us. He was backed by The Badger State Sheriff’s Association, The Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, The Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association, The Wisconsin District Attorneys Association, The Wisconsin County Police Association, The Association of State Prosecutors, and The Wisconsin Troopers’ Association, to name a few.
No concern whatsoever about our rights to protect ourselves or our families. Just a typical, narrow minded, liberal, gun grabber attitude. If it weren't for the fact that hunting brings in huge yearly revenue to Wisconsin, he'd probably outlaw that too. So like I mentioned in an earlier post: we know exactly how Doyle will throw us a bone concerning hunting issues, while at the same time having no concern about the 2nd Amendment or our gun rights.
