What gives with CR 45 ?
« on: August 15, 2009, 01:22:41 AM »
Some of you may remember recently I bought a new CR 45Colt at a great close out price of $229. There was another on the shelf for the same price and I tried for weeks to justify buying another one. Several times I fondled the rifle and always put it back on the rack. Yesterday I decided to buy it for the wife... it was gone and in it's place was another CR at full price $355. Has H&R changed their mine about canceling production of this rifle or has the dealer realized it was too good a bargin? Just curious.

Just because it's not available as an accessory barrel doesn't mean it's no longer made, SSI still has them in stock, so other distributors likely still do too.  ;)

The local Gander Mountain also had them on close out but not that cheap. I guess I jumped to conclusion. As for being mismarked this dealer at one time had a big stack of them on the floor all marked the same. After checking SS's prices I really wished I'd bought two now.

SSI's prices are like MSRP, only they call it SSSRP, they're just suggested retail prices.
