Performance details of 3.07 inch Moffatt breechloader tested by Army in 1873-apparently worked much better than early version did in 1863.

I was wondering what happened to the 6" Moffatt rifled howitzer that the Army tested-pictured in a drawing above. It blew up while being used for test-firing Dynamite shells.
