anyone had any problem with the magizine dropping while shooting. i have only shot 100 rounds in this one and dont know for sure if it is dropping or the way i am holding it. maybe hitting the release. i am not used to smaller guns. but i will say it shoots very well as long as the mag. stays in. and where can i find new mags for a lower price. dont really want to pay 35 or 40 bucks.

My cousin has one doing the same thing.  We can't figure out why its doing it.
He's ready to give up on it and get rid of it.

If you figure it out, let us all know.  Right now, I'm going with the "I'm hitting the magazine release" theory, but have yet to confirm it.
BTW, mine is a first-gen PT145.

I'm new to this forum and I too am having problems with my Taurus PT140 PRO. Brand new, bought it last
Feb of 09. Fired it for the first time at my CHL renewal class and after a couple of shots the clip dropped out and the round jammed.  The instructor took the weapon and tried it himself.  Same problem.  He told me that he had heard of others with Taurus guns had the same problem.  So the instructor loaned me his glock to finish with the weapon qualification.  Before I send it back to Taurus I am going to the range this weekend and try one more time.

Maybe it's my thumb, by accident, hitting the mag ejection button at time of recoil.

I had a Kahr PM 45 that did the exact same thing.  I called Kahr and they told me that they had been receiving reports of other PM 45s doing that.  Kahr looked into it and determined that the cause was the mag. release button being too short to get a good grab on the mag.  Kahr mailed me a new one (free) and I was back in business within 5 days.  I never had another problem after that.  The bar on the new button was noticibly longer than on the old one.

You might want to contact Taurus...they might have found the same thing.  Kahr would never have sent me a replacement without my contacting them first.
Thanks from the Frozen Northwoods!!!

That still amazes me…I don’t care who you are or how much I care about you, I would never let you kill my son.  I can’t even begin to understand how much He loves us.

If you want to see if it is you or the gun, shoot it left haded.  I can't shoot the Khar without locking the slide back righthanded but have no problem lefthanded. 8)
