A bullet for the .40 Short and Weak?? (40 S&W)
« on: August 17, 2009, 07:48:23 AM »
  Veral,
My son is entering a career in Law Enforcement so I recently bough him a Glock in .40 S&W. I'm looking to start reloading for it as I'll most likely get one myself as well. The heaviest commercial loads I see are 180 grains. Would you stick with that in a cast bullet as well?

    Thanks,
If you're gonna be stupid ya gotta be tuff

Yes, I'd call 180 the top end for the 40 S&W.  Heavier will be moving too slow for good wounding effect.  Weights down to 160 are real good too, because of their higher velocity potential.  I recommend my WFN for the 40 autos.  Have sold quite a few and haven't had one feeding complaint, while all love the accuracy, yet it is blunt enough to hit like a big hammer when it gets to the target.
