Time To Hunt
« on: September 30, 2003, 04:09:05 PM »
I usually hunt squirrel early in the morning and get an average of 2 a day. So since I have never hunted squirrel in the evening I was wondering if anyone has more luck in the evening then the morning.

    -Thanks

Evening Vs. Morning

I prefer to hunt in the morning as well. I like to get in the woods when it is still dark so that the squirrels will never know that I am there.

At the first light of morning the squirrels that are leaving the den trees and nests are usually moving pretty good trying to get to thier destination. However, in the late evening as the squirrels return to their dens they will usually move slower and sit around more near the tree.

Other than this there isn't much difference between evening and morning.

I usually hunt em in the am as well.  BUT when I am out deer hunting in the eve I see just as many if not more than I do in the am.  I am usually busy in the eve so I almost never hunt them then.  I would say it is 50/50.
