MARCH 5th, 2009

~

Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back  As He Was Running Away With Her Purse.

The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And Asked To Explain Her Actions.

~

The Woman Replied, "I Was Standing At The Corner Bus Stop For About 15 Minutes, Waiting For The  Bus To Take Me Home After Work. I Am A Waitress At A Local Cafe...

~

I Was There Alone, So I Had My Right Hand On My Pistol That Was In My Purse, That Was Hung  Over My Left Shoulder.

All Of A Sudden I Was Being Spun Around Hard To My Left. As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man Running Away From Me With My Purse.

~

I Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly Around My Pistol, The Next Thing I Remember Is Saying Out Loud, " No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing MyPay Check And Tips."

~

I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol at The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse,And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times!

~

When Asked By The Arraignment Judge,"Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times?

~

The Woman Replied Under Oath, "Because, When I Pulled The Trigger Of My Pistol The 7th Time, It Only Went Click."

The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges And She Was Back At Work, At The Cafe, The Next Day!

That is great. That's the way it should be done. The only thing is if i i did that in NY where i live. I would spend the rest of my life in Attica prison.

In NY if the guy got away withthe ourse and the handgun was still in it, you would be in a smyuch trouble as shooting him.  I live in Ny and I had a friend who had a handgun stolen from hi slocked truck with th epistol locked in the glove box.  He lost his permit and had his handguns confiscated

Fairly certain it's fake.  There is no Houston Herald but the Houston Chronicle does not carry any similar story from a similar date.  Plus it's poorly written, badly punctuated, and generally unfit for publication.  Finally, if there had been a court case and those quotes would have been real don't you think they would have added actual names?

If it seems too good to be true (or is written by a semi-literate 5th grader) it probably is...

I would have voted not guilty if on the jury. She wouldn't have even needed a lawyer. I'd also like to see his estate have to pay for her ammo.

There is a houston herald websight. Doesn't mean the story is true but it proves that even graduating from law school doesn't mean you know anything.

Saw that before I posted... I'm not one to just say things, but thanks for the unprovoked insult... and the revealing ignorance.

I'll save you the time... there's also http://thehoustonherald.com/ but it's a news spam site...

Gotta love that line!

Lighten up fellas, no need to fight over a Entertaining post!

Hell, what are we gonna do when something controversial comes along like what caliber handgun to use on a purse snatcher?  ;D

Hi Duckkillr
When I lived in Beaumont Texas there was a man named
Red Banjo Marshall that had his life threatened by another man.
The next day he found him coming out of the bank in downtown Beaumont.  He shot him dead and the set the gun down and sat on the curb until the police got there.  He was not charged with murder and set free.  The newspaper there is The Beaumont Enterprise and Journal.
This was in the early 1960's.

I dont doubt that for a second.  People defend themselves with deadly force all the time in this country.  That was not what this "article" was about.  I suspect it was written by the same person who made the fake post from Australia a few weeks ago.

That story cannot be true. I'd be surprised that anyone defending property instead of human life would be allowed to get away with something like this.

And I'd be concerned that someone might read it and believe it and then try to replicate it...
