Never shot a T/C Contender Rifle with a Factory Match Barrel but I have had 3 differentT/C Contender Super 14 .22 LR Match Handguns. The accuracy of these barrels never ceases to amaze me with the limiting factor being the shooter.

On the other hand a buddy for the past two years now has been shooting a T/C Benchmark Heavy Barrel Semi Auto .22 Rifle. Prior to getting the T/C Benchmark he was shooting a Marlin Model 2000L. This T/C is much much more gun and shoots quite a bit better than the Marlin Model 2000L did and the Marlin shot quite well.

In shooting at our local indoor shooting range in our bench rest matches using the USBR Target in the winter months my buddy has finished first one year and second another year shooting his totally stock T/C Benchmark. I have never seen Ron be so pleased with any other gun he has ever had as he is with the T/C Benchmark.

Anytime bud. I have been wanting to try a G2 Contender Rifle with a 23" Bull .22 LR Match Barrel. Last winter I built a custom Ruger 77/22 and haven't recovered from the sticker shock yet.

How did that Ruger turn out?  Thinking of doing that myself.  Got a hold of the gray target version with the gray laminated stock in .17HM2 and it shoots better than my contender does.  Both need trigger jobs.  Just got the contender and already it might be traded.  Gun feels good but sucks to play with on bags.  Thought of getting the ruger, adding a green mountain or volquartsen .22lr barrel and would have the best of both worlds.  Was that gun the nightmare gun you had once got rid of and got back?  I think you had it bedded and a few other things, you ever go with a new barrel?  Looking forward to your reply again...Kirby
