460 barrels

Has anyone ever heard of a 460 barrel that is longer than15 " lets say 24" or is this impossible to do with the velocity?which I wouldnt say is all that fast they make the 450 marlin i? rifle lenghth and the 50 alaskan and the 454 in the puma ?If someone has heard of one can you please tell me where to get one?

I expect any of the custom makers would be glad to make you one.  Kinda long for a pistol barrel, though.

You can buy an encore 460 Katahdin barrel directly from Thompson Center that is 20 inches SS fluted.

I have one of the encore 460 Katahdin/20" factory barrels.  With the 200 grain Hornady ammo, my Chrony says well over 2500 fps.   I may be switching to a 445 SM.  No problem with the 460, just wanting to do something different.
