TLA Jezebel - Prototype SN 1
« on: August 24, 2009, 04:18:08 PM »
Got this recently and thought I'd post pics here.  The Jezebel was never put into production - only a few exist.  This one was the first.  It is more crudely made than the others, but that is usually how prototypes are.  It is also missing the firing pin assembly.  Will probably have to have those parts custom made.  Anywho, a neat LITTLE .22 single shot break open.  Wonder how these would have done commercially?

I remember reading Hal Swigget's article on these TLA single shot .22 pistols.  He said Bill Grover was too busy designing and getting the little beauties into production to name them.  I think he called them the "No Name Pistols."  He seemed to think they were neat little pistols.

Do you remember when and in what publication you saw that article?  I'd like to look it up, if possible.

Wow that's... unusual. And his other guns look so nice. I guess you can't hit 'em all out of the park.

I think it's kind of cool. Then again I like weird looking guns, broomhandles, nambus. The history behind it also makes it very interesting.

Thanks!  That would be most helpful.  I'm trying to assemble a TLA bibliography for the book, too, so it isn't all about researching.  I'd like others to be able to know where to read more if they'd like, too.  :)

The metalwork looks ok, but.......WOOD is ugly and there's too much of it.

I won't disagree that it is cosmetically different, but one thing that picture doesn't show is scale.  These guns are quite small and the stocks are relatively beefy like they are so you will have something to hold.  The grooves on either side fit my finger pretty well.

I guess I had Contender on the brain, so it being a smaller gun I see your point.  Can you put up a pic that shows the size relative to your hand? The more I look at it the more I like it.....I'm ugly too. ;D

that's what I was thinking, maybe look a lot better if the furniture was different.

That auction is mine.  I wound up with some of the partially finished parts for these.  The gun never got off the ground, so those parts are all there is for most anyone to own a Jezebel.  I've seen only one in person and been told of one other.
