I have one word for you CRAIGSLIST. You can advertise there for free in your local area. I just found out about it this past spring and have done many jobs this summer because of it. I live in Pa and as of this past July 1rst for you to do any remodeling or construction work in Pa you must have a Pa contractors license. I am happy to say as of today I am now a legal Pa contractor. I do expect to get more calls now due to that fact. Before when I ran an add there I was listed as unlicened. Many people will not even think of giving an unlicened contractor a call. I would run an add there for your services, just be sure you do not have to be licensed in your state or you could face steep fines like here. The steep fines is what made me get legal. Dale
hi
i am a 54 year old carpenter
out of work as much as i can
i am not lisenced in any way [ffl and driver]
my cards say strickly by the hour
i do not quote a price...that makes me a contractor
if they don't like that they can get some one else
does the lisenced electrition or plumber to the work or his un-lisenced helper
does it matter if the helper works for the home owner or the electician or plumber
if the home owner doesn't pull the proper permits....not my problem...i am hired help
as our trade is very undependable
i have always kept 6 months worth of money on hand
years worth is a wiser plan
if you can't do that re-evaluate your life and vices [my vice is that next gun]
.
good luck to you....happy savings.....when you get back to work
