A big thank you
« on: August 27, 2009, 04:10:24 PM »
I got my map for my 60csx.  I went ahead with the preloaded chip and have figured out how to program in my routes and waypoints.  I also managed to figure out how to use mapsource to load in some good routes from a friend off of an e-mail group.  Got the ram mount and have used it on my motorcycle.  I have the hardwire harness but haven't installed it yet, hopefully monday.  This has opened up a whole new arena of use for my unit, rather than just hunting and trapping.  I am thinking of reducing my onstar service to the minimum rather than turn by turn I have now because I like being able to see the whole route in advance rather than just warned one turn at a time.  I wouldn't have waded into any of this without y'alls guidance so thank you.

Glad you like how it works.  The trick will be keeping an eye on the road while using it.  I just about did myself in on my Mountain Bike when I took my eyes of the road.  I have given myself a couple of scares.

Keep us up todate on your runs and how the system works for you.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!
