This Saturday is opening day of dove season here, and we're taking the Knight TK2000 shotgun along. I've got 25 of the "speed loaders" from Cabellas all loaded up and ready to go. It's going to be FUN! I can't wait.

Unfortunately, after four misses, I got a patch stuck in the barrel. I didn't have a patch puller, or my CO2 discharger. I tried to push it out with 209 primers, but no luck, so I was done with it for the day. The moral - be prepared for the things you think will never happen in the field. They will!

It is a lot easier to loose a patch in a shotgun barrel than it would seem, when you think of how much air the nipple will let in compaired to the volume of the barrel when you are pulling the rod out.  I use a shotgun jag from TOW which holds the patch pretty well but have had it suck back into the barrel with a big pop.  Then you need the worm to get it back out and even that will take some fiddling.  Always use a wet patch.
