Base pin problems

Has anyone else here ever had any problem with flame cutting on their base pin? I have an 83 in .475 that hasn't been fired all that much, and the last time I clean it, I noticed that there is a slight ring being cut into the base pin exactly in line with the BC gap. It is slight, but none-the-less it's there. I am wondering if it has to do with the use of Lil'Gun possibly? After reading here, and having Mr. Baker tell me in another post here that Lil'Gun will cause me trouble, I will not be using it in my gun anymore.

My .475 doesn't show any signs of flame cutting on either the top strap or the base pin.  I've shot just shy of 13,000 rounds thru this gun.  Most were 400gr at 1,100 fps using A2400 or HS6.   I've never used Lil'Gun in the .475, but have shot in the neighborhood of 500 rounds with top end H110 loads.

I checked the gun that I have had the most trouble with Lil Gun, and I don't have any flame cutting on the base pin.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe it is a defect in the pin. I will have them look it over when I send the gun in for a barrel trim.

Checked both the 454 & 475 ~ the fitment on both is so tight that I can't see the base pin being exposed to flame cutting ? ? ?
