Full scale carronade or gunade if you prefer.  Barrel 39" long and 10 3/4" diameter at the breech.
Circa 1700's on a ships carraige.  All pine 2 X 12's from Home Depot except the threaded wood leveling screw (oak)  All put together with wooden pegs.  Only metal is small chains, 4 pieces of allthread, and a few eye bolts.

What did you use to turn the barrels ? I don't see that fitting in your normal shop lathe .

Nice looking guns!!
On an interesting note wooden cannon have actually been used in battle as far fecthed as it seems. I believe they were mortars though with iron strapping. desperate times call for desperate measures :o

Stimpy,
My lathe is a Delta Top Turn with a bed extension.  It is the biggest lathe that Delta makes but is still too small to turn these pieces.  I turn them in sections then peg them together with wooden pegs.

Great job!!!!!!!!! :o ;D Take it from a person that has been a carpenter all his life. You got real talent. I do not even know how to start that project other than glueing up a bunch of 2x12's. Dale

Thanks for the compliment Dale.  It is really pretty basic stuff if you can use a lathe.
