1) What models have a front attachment screw in the receiver and not in the barrel or barrel band??
2) What is the attachment method for the barrel, Pinned or threaded, thread info if so.??
Hi Paul,
1) All CZ Rimfires have a threaded barrel that is attached to the receiver just like centerfire rifles. That was indeed one of the first things that drew me to CZ rimfires and also might be a factor in why they are so accurate right out of the box.
2) The 452 Varmint, Lux, Ultra, Silhouette, Trainer, Style, Special, Full Stock, have a screw that goes through a metal escutcheon and screws into a block attached to the bottom of the barrel forward of the trigger guard and one screw that attaches to the receiver.
All 452 American models have both the front and the rear action screws.
All 453 American and Varmint models have both the front and the rear action screws.
The Scout has only one action screw.
There might be a few exceptions to the above list and the list might not complete. For example, it's possible there's a version of the 452 Varmint model chambered for .17 HM2 that uses only one action screw.
Best thing would be for you to mention which model CZ Rimfire you are interested in, and then we could track down the exact configuration. Also, don't be turned off of CZs if the model you desire does not have two action screws. CZ and BRNO have been building 22s in the escutcheon/block configuration for decades and that system works just as well as the two receiver screw models. All CZ 22s are known to shoot well no matter how the barreled action is attached to the stock.
