No-Tube peep options
« on: August 31, 2009, 04:02:59 PM »
Hello Everyone,

When I bought my fist hunting bow several years ago, the pro shop manager recomended a nice peep sight with rubber tubing to align the peep. Although it shoots well, I have had a few infrequent issues with it. One, of course is the fact that the tubing eventually wears and slips off the peep. The other is a bit of "slap" as the arrow clears the rest. I expected some of this, but I these issues have cost me a few

I have read about, and have some buddies that shoot a tubless peep, and I would like to switch to a good one with a bright, large-aperture peep for hunting big game.

Can anyone recomend a couple of reliable brands? Any real hunting experience with them, pro or con are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

K.K

I have a G5 peep make sure you get a hunting peep. the tube peeps for me are too small all you see on a deer is brown NOT GOOD. Since deer dont have colored targets on them you need to be able to see more than just brown you need an overall pic when shooting one.

I am shooting a peep with no tube.
I remember the first time i looked through it i thought man this is big as a
bucket, but now i realize i can see the whole target even at 20yds.
I guess it is what you get use to, i don't want to hassle with the tube,
don't even like the string on the drop rest but that is what i have been shooting
cause the big boys told me to, and i ain't going to change rat now. ;D
