Supremacy Clause in Article VI of the Constitution, all treaties are rendered "the supreme law of the land," superseding preexisting state and federal statutes. Any rights or laws established by the U.N. convention could then be argued to hold sway in the United States.

There are numerous treaties being reviewed; Barbara Boxer is focused on the child rights law, which among other things would make the age of consent 12, may affect gun rights, may affect whether or not we can home school, etc. Other countries who've signed the treaty include those that traffic in teen prostitution ... It will drastically empower the social education agenda, and collaterally weaken all other rights deemed harmful to the children.

BTW, lest we lose perspective, many of the international children's relief organizations have 85% or higher operating costs, and have been charged with fraud, abuse, and in some cases child prostitution. All of them work with the UN on children's rights issues.

Remember, its all about the children. You want what's best for them, don't you?

No UN treaty, agreement or anything can trump the constitution. Only an idiot in the white house or collective idiots in congress could allow such a ridiculous violation of our sovereignty & civil rights to occur. So clearly, this is quite possible!

I read somewhere that the US gives 25% of the UN budget with Japan giving 15% and Germany 10%.  That is half their total money from just 3 countries.  It is based on the GNP of each country.  About 90% is paid by the western nations.  The poor nations the rest.  However there are far more poor nations with a vote.  I think the vote should be on the ability to pay.  We could then always get a few countries to be our allies.  Or get out.

Amen brother.  Getting involved in the UN was one of the worst decisions our Government has ever made.  We get to foot the bill for every disaster world wide and get to send our young men and women of to fight their wars and we get absolutely nothing in return.  I wish the heck we would tell the UN to count us out.  We don't need the UN.

The UN has one gun law: disarm civilians.

This is ironic because the UN has been in the best position to see what happens in countries with disarmed citizens (Rwanda, North Korea, etc.)

An unarmed, scared and submissive citizen is a good one, as far as the Liberal UN is concerned. That's how they are best prepared to set up deals with the oppressive governments to steal you blind in some form or fashion. This strategy is at the core of the Liberals in control. Liberals that ascend into power are only there to control and steal you blind. The free giveaways and hand outs are just a smoke screen for the pervasive corruption they employ.

NATO leader may wish to enforce some of their laws on the American people but I'm sure they would be in for a fight.  I may not have the fight left in me that I once had, but rest assured I would fight for America if NATO troops tried to enforce their rules on the American people. >:( >:( >:(

I must not understand NATO's ability to enforce civilian laws/actions. I understand NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Org)  to only be a military agreement between participating nations. What laws does NATO have or enforce anywhere?

Screw the rest of the world.  No one does anything for us.  The whole world would be better if they had let MacArthur run through China and consolidate Korea in the early 50s.  They let the Russians take Berlin, etc., etc.  We could't bomb Haiphong city or international shipping in the harbor....so guess what.....the U.N made us loose the war.  We kicked Kadaffi's ass and he shut up.  We are strong and should use that strength at our own discretion and not be tied down in a whimp, confining organization like the U.N.  The second they seek to control us, we should be out of there....in fact, we should be out now.  The token help they give us in the fight against terrorism isn't worth a squat.

We should bring our troops home, and use our military might to squash hotspots....Useing land, sea, and air power without constraints, including nuclear weapons if needed to protect our country.

I'll step down off the podium now.

BBF, at present time, I am not a member. But at a few of the gun shows I set up at, they have a table handing out info. They have a magazine out called The New American. There is a you tube video from one of their founders. It's in black and white, dated from around '64 or '65. Their main push back then was against communism, big govt., and the U.N. Doesn't sound to radical in this day and age. gypsyman

Reid v. Covert, 354 U.S. 1 (1957), is a landmark case in which the United States Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution supersedes international treaties ratified by the United States Senate. According to the decision, "this Court has regularly and uniformly recognized the supremacy of the Constitution over a treaty,".

SCOTUS ruled.    The only question is will a new SCOTUS overturn it......

Also, anyone else notice that the pres hasn't visited Texas but he has been to Mexico how many times?

If Texas should secede I would ask that they negotiate exchange of citizens with the US and Mexico, allowing all Texans currently serving in the Armed Forces to return home, and allowing all non-Texans the opportunity to leave or file for a visa.

On this basis alone, she is unqualified to be a judtge in any court. Same with the moron Ginsburg.

So when someone cites the protections in the constituion, I have to laugh. These judges could care less about the constituion. They will do what they want. The constition is meaningless to them. The UN has real influence that can and will superceed our constituion.

im gonna have to read a little more about that...but a treaty between our govt an the u.n.
will be as predicted .. the fig leaves are greening up...i always wondered why the armies of gog an magog never seemed to me to have anything to do with the united states,,at least to me..mabe because it won t exist...
change is constant... but the great I AMs purpose will be finally realized ...he never changed.
his grace is sufficient ...if able to fight i will ,,if only able to endure ,,i will try my best..
boys i don t know if you realise the full implications of what you are talking about..you talkin about a situation that will,, im thinking,, be our hell on earth..this for those who remember the united states of america...we may get to experience what the native americans endured... in any case we know from thier example that there can be no peace with the powers of the day.. fight to the last man...we don t have a different shade of skin to know our enemy by...jmo slim
ps im putting most of my guns into hands a lot steadier than mine,,so they won t be confiscated...
i  keep my savage 06 ,a shot gun,, a 22,my handguns ,,for the time being,,anyway....
 but if they gettum ,,
they gonna take right smart of smithing to makeum shoot anything.. of that i gurantee...
one idea is to take one of the enemy out everytime he test my guns... huum..now how could that get below thier radar..oughta be away..they ll come get me tonite for this post.. high treason or patriot,,just depends on
how you look at it... if i live long enough... i know how im going out ...as a winner or real poor loser..

really droping out would be bad since we sit on the security cons. and can vote down veto any thing they want passed .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
