really droping out would be bad since we sit on the security cons. and can vote down veto any thing they want passed .

If we drop out, there BS initiatives mean nothing to us. We would ignore them as we have no representation to listen to their BS.

We need to get out of the UN. They are determined to destroy our constitution.

We "used to" control them ... with our economic issues, etc. our control has weakened to the point where they credibly have justification to require us to conform to the same agreements all the other members have. We've enjoyed special status because we were perceived to be too influential; those days are over. So if we want to stay with the UN, we will lose the influence many say is our justification for staying.

Pulling out of the UN will help us more in the short and long term. But we don't have that government right now - so we're going to become the idiot in the global village. Strong back, weak mind. Give us some japanime comic books to drool on and then send us out for police action.

any veto vote from the 5 on the security coun. kills an issue . How could giving up that option help us ? Cut off funds would be a nice touch though.

Simple, the UN has no authority or certainly should never have authority to do anything. Who cares what they vote on. If we are no longer a memeber, they can vote on whatever they want and its meanigless to us.

well if we leave it opens the door for the remaining to pass resolutions that may very well hurt those countries that do support us . Who else on the SC with a veto vote look out for them ?
Ememys should be kept close ! I feel the same disdain as ya'll but do not wish to give up any leverage we have as that would be little more than cutting ones nose off to spite their face .

We don't need anything from the UN. We need to close-off from the rest of the screwed up world and it's political mess. We should give the UN 5 years to find a new home and relinquish all our involvement with them over a 12 month period. The UN does nothing for us other than to infringe on our constitution and individual rights.

I don't think we can come to any conclusion that if we were not in Afganistan & Iraq we would have Iraq & Afgan troops landing on our beaches. That seems like an excessive reaction. Neither one of these countries have that capability. Our foriegn policy over the years and our involvment in the UN as a puppet for has caused most of the blow-back we get.

Get out of the UN and force our federal government to do its job as perscribed in our constituion and this crape will eventually go away.

They do have the ablity to send if they have not done so already cells of terriost here  ( their way of fighting ) . I give Bush credit for allowing our SS , FBI , military and others to do their jobs .
The problem is we have not set a goal and went after it full speed , we are acting like world police hoping the other side will want to be like us . THEY DON"T ! they want us to be like them , and it seems some here do also !
Most of the blow back is our arrogance in thinking we are what others want to be , look around this country wealfare proves that all here don't share the American dream !

Shootall:
In haste, yes the US has a veto, so does Russia and China and those two will always vote together in important stuff. Secondly the WH calls the shots when and on what a US veto is placed in the UN. What if the WH is controlled by internal enemies to the Republic??

Gypsyman Re # 18. Robert Welch was the founder, I have heard him speak, read his books and other JBS publications while I lived in the US. We( yes I was a member) were considered lunatics and right wing radicals that made up stuff. Any public appearance thru media was totally biased against us. I had been on the receiving side of left wing action many years ago.

The Soviet Union is gone, at least by name. The people that ran it are still there, still in power and getting more of it  as we go(Putin). They just don't call themselves Communists anymore. That is the reason you never heard of a round-up and purge of party members and their leaders. There was none.  BTW, you don't hear much of this from any of the former east bloc countries either if it happened there.

Oppositon parties are isolated, leaders disappear routinely, reporters and informers die mysteriously. These are things to watch for in the US, let us hope the 2010 election is decisive enough to stop or least slow down the advance of the Hordes.

Who cares if we have veto power, committe leads, security counsel role, bla bla bal. The UN has no legal authority in this land. Its all symbolisam. If we are no longer a memeber, thier symbolic unfluence evaporates. The UN is nothing more than a global alliance of power hungry slobs attempting to create a new world order run by the global elites. Does anyone actually think that say Germany or France care about our constituion or Bill of Rights? Does anyone actually think that any memeber nation has any respect for our constitution or founding principals? They could care less. The entire aim of the UN has become a plateform for the globalists to control your life.

Need to pay attention more to what's going on in the UN, not just what we're told we're doing with the UN. Our so called VETO power is not absolute, and is in constant dispute, and is currently being undermined slowly by our own choices and the actions of others. Live in any of the other countries where the other 5.7 billion people live on this planet for a while. Our VETO is a joke, and an insult that the actual super powers are tired of. We're like the really old guy on the board of trustees that everyone tolerates and publicly respects, but when we fall asleep during the meeting, they do what they want. Our role has passed on the UN.

Cabin 4 gets a gold star! The UN concept is only one of the steps required for a ONE WORLD government.
People like George Soros live and breathe that concept because they will have an active hand in it and reap the profits. Those people are hand picking our politicians and writting all bills and laws in congress now. Ted's dead and you want to pick the new guy, just change the law to suit your needs. Money is power.
Australia is disarmed, Canada is almost there, guess who is next? Soros doesn't want us to have guns. It interferes with his plans. The UN is a farce, but it is the first step in a one world government. It will take 30 years or less for it to happen. Our only hope is that our military won't violate our constituion. We need to be united to beat this.

Yes, the checks and balance would have to be re-established.
A Supreme Court that writes laws, a President that routinely uses Executive Orders to bypass the Legislative and appoints "Czars" without any vetting from Congress and a Congress that forgets their Oath of Office or have no clue what they actually mean makes a mockery out of a Republic.

Even a Parliament system as we have here in Canada is more responsible and responsive to what is going on presently in D.C.
Case in point: We had the Oppositon parties ganged up against the present minority Govt trying to force an election well ahead of the time an election needed to be called.* The Prime Minister presented his case of opposing this election at that time to the Governor General which is the direct representative to her Majesty the Queen and the request of the opposition party was denied for a period.

We do not have fixed election Dates in Canada. There is a maximum number of years between calls for an election and there are procedures for a Vote of Confidence which the Party in power needs to win without having to call an early election.

As I said before worry about your own country before you try to push your messed up system on us here. We Americans need no advice from a second rate place.

Okay so here's my point. If the USA pulls out of the UN, they (the UN) have no means to present us with anything that the UN produces. If we are no longer a member nation, we are not participating therefor we are no listening and threfor we are not compelled to react to their rediculous resolutions.

You have to seperate us from the UN when you think this through.

IMO, I really don't think so. The people that head the UN are nothing more than supporters of the global nation concept (NWO). The Director General of the UN would like nothing more than to have direct authority over what today are sovergn nations. These UN people are all about balancing the wealth, economy, technology & power. Which in other words, they are purveyors of legalized theft and violators of individual Rights.

While I think there are areas of our world that will be global no matter what, we do not have to support it nor do we have to participate in the legalization of global organized theft by the global elites.

Obama has been tapped for the UN Security council. He will be the first WORLD President. China, Russia, and the UN economic council will replace the US dollar as the worlds reserve currency with a new currency. It will be a "faith" backed currency.
Hang on to your hats.
