time to save some lives

to the people who want to ban guns:

thats fine as long as we can ban (insert your choice here) because (big number) of people die from it everyday

hey, as long as it saves one life!  like high school football! its dangerous! it has to go.  think of the risk the spectators are engaging just by driving to the game?  and there are no seatbelts on thus buses the team is riding in. 

its time to prohibit deep holes and cliffs. they are too dangerous.  when they make the world safe for my children by outlawing holes and cliffs and getting rid of all of those deadly sheer precipices we will know that the right people are in office.

no more gasoline either. its very bad stuff.  we must eradicate it from the earth.  hey, if it saves ONE life its worth it.

please write your congressman now

 fast food outlets. alcohol. and cigarette's. i think these kill more people than guns.

 yep those things are already on a list of thing counterprodutive to social progress...
 its just a matter of time.. we are the bacteria advocates of individual rights..the social euphorics
are the folks holding the clorox spray mix..they just cleaning up is all.. can t have any bacteria in thier perfect world..

I agree with the stupidity of the "ban guns to save lives" argument.

People tend to forget... not one life EVER gets saved.  We all die in the end.  I think if you look into it, we (western world) are probably actually living in one of the safest times in history.  No major plagues.  No arbitrary hangings, torturings, ect.  Relatively low crime rates.  No incessant wars in our countries.  No plundering or raping and pillaging.  Haven't even heard of anything like Prince Vlad lately.  Since the end of WWII, western society has actually been a pretty nice place overall.

swimming pools, automobiles, doctors, bicycling, Christmas trees, portable heaters, lawn mowers, .....  you could fill this screen with things that seriously injure or kill more people than privately owned firearms.

More violent crimes are committed after dark though so you had just better lock yourself in the house.  Oh, but stay away from the shower, very dangerous according to statistics.  And don't eat anything.  Do you know how many people become seriously ill or even die from food born bacteria like salmonella?

We've had a rash of little kids falling, or leaping out of second, or third story windows, so multi-story dwellings have got to go.

How about water buckets? More children age 2 and under die from drowning in water buckets then from firearms.

Yep, both the sun and water kill more people than accidental deaths from guns.  Need to ban the sun and water.
