Winchester 94 lever
« on: September 03, 2009, 03:31:00 AM »
I was shooting an older post 64 one yesterday and was awed by how nice that action is to shoot as a single shot. Drop the lever, feed a cartridge from the top. Easy as pie. Locks up nice, ejects nice, external hammer, half cock safety, straight stock, metal buttplate, good balance, easy to carry, a natural with a peep sight, all good. I have seen (overpriced IMHO) Ithaca 49 22LR's which are a similar feel in a single shot. Anything like that in centerfire? Like a .22 Hornet perhaps?

Sure,  a Winchester 1885 - as in an issue Browning 1885 Lo-Wall .22 Hornet.
