Less gun laws = less crime!
« on: September 05, 2009, 04:39:20 AM »
Do you think lifting all, or most of the gun laws on the books would be a good or bad thing for America in fighting crime?
Here is a link to part one of three articles written by John Longenecker, a writer for Gun Owners of America and other pro 2nd amendment orgs.

Crime has been reduced somewhat in those states that have a concealed carry laws.  It has been further reduced in those states that have castle doctrine laws.

Most criminals are well aware of the fact that an unarmed society is at their mercy and conduct their business accordingly.

The Castle Laws give a person the right to literally defend their Castle (home), or any other place that they legally occupy, for example, their car while driving to work or their place of work once they get there, and to protect anyone else that is occupying these places with the person, as a place in which one enjoys protection from illegal trespassing and violent attack, or an intrusion which may lead to a violent attack. If a person should happen to kill an intruder under the above circumstances, the person can then claim justifiable homicide under the Castle Doctrine when the court proceedings take place.

Also prevents civil lawsuits in such cases.

The ONLY gun law we need is the Second Amendment it says it all. We have the right to keep and bear arms so that means we can have them, carry them and use them when necessary. Remove the rest and crime would go down drastically and quickly. Those foolish enough to continue to try to make a living via crime wouldn't live long so by process of elimination crime would end.

BBF,

The Castle Doctrine is not accepted as law in all States. In those States, running away is about all you can do legally.

I'll go one better - German Shepherd / Rottweiler mix.  Trained, to boot.  She won't let you into our house or yard unless you belong.  If she doesn't know you, you'd better be with me or the wife, and it better be peaceful!
