.357 maximum storage
« on: September 05, 2009, 11:46:29 AM »
I am going to get some .357 maximum loaded up for my Contender. I need to know what plastic storage boxes will they fit in? The box for the .357 is to short. Appreciate your input.

I use the J&J plastic boxes , either a SR100B ( 100 round ) or the 5H50B ( 50 round ) , both work very well , just about any of the 50 or 100 round 223 boxes will work for the max .

Thank you sir. I didnt find the #'s you referenced, but they do list the .357 max with the 22 hornet. So I believe I will try that. Unless you think I should go the .223 route?
Thanks

I just went back and rechecked The deminsions on the .22 hornet and .223. I think you are right and there listing may be mistaken. The hornet appears narrower than the .223 or the .357.

The Hornets will flop around quite a bit in those boxes but will still work  ;D

I happen to like the 5H50b boxes better , they say that their for the 500 S&W , the thing I like about them is that they have a soft pad that keeps the rounds in place , no shaking or noise .

I also use the J&J boxes, but they don't work for my 180 spitzer bullets. But for pistol bullets they work wonderfully. I have used the 223 boxes too and these are good  but can be too long for the pistol bullets.

ok, I got it this time. Sorry for the confusion. I am on my way back to their page to order. Thanks for the help.
What I am planning on using is 170 sierra hollow points, and 200gr Hornady spire points to start(its what I have). So I will have short and long rounds. I will buy the longer for now. Thanks
