FINALLY
« on: September 06, 2009, 08:43:49 AM »
I  have all but given up at times, but finally have achived success with my 336 35 and FTX bullets. I have not been able to get under
2 1/2 inches. Until, I trimmed the cases back to 1.810 and used 40.5 gr of blc2 and shot a couple groups.....1 1/4 inches at 100 yards.  I am glad I kept digging for this one!  Now to play with the seating and crimp a little and see if I can get under 1 inch.

Sometimes it takes some work but its well worth the effort , work with the seating depth now , both longer and shorter till you find the sweet spot .

I LOVE those bullets for my BLR .358, <1 inch at 100 and barely 1+ @200yds. :o  One thing I found out real quick was that they have a long ogive (I think that's the correct term).  Practically speaking, they jammed the lands of my BLR when seated to the same OAL as another load I was using giving me wicked pressure spikes.  Shortening your cases may have addressed that one already, you might try loose seating one in an empty sized case just to check where they engage the rifling.
