Several months back I purchased a used Ruger M77 in 7mm Mauser with blued steel and synthetic stock (older hollowed out shoulder stock type). I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, so I took the day off Friday to make a 4 day weekend and went to Knob Creek Gun Range to do some shooting. After some sighting in and adjusting the scope I was able to shoot .75 inch groups with both Hornady 139 grain BTSP and Winchester 145 grain loads. I also shot PRVI 158 grain Grom load, which shot 1.5 inches (it can shoot better, the larger group was my fault).
To say the least I was very impressed. I also love the light recoil of this cartridge. I cant wait for deer season.
That is not the end of the story. I brought along my Taurus 2 inch 44 mag and my Yugo 8mm to shoot as well. After I finished, I went in the gun store to look at the inventory. To my surprise they had 2 Ruger LCPs on the shelf. I have been wanting one for months, but nobody had one in stock when I was visiting. The short story is that I traded the Taurus and took the Ruger home. Hopefully I wont have to wait months to shoot this Ruger.
