A Confederate "Tomato Can" Mortar

Made this Mortar using Double D's K.I.S.S. Golf Ball Mortar plans, with a couple of modifications. Base is Port Orford Cedar, tube is the sleeve from a 10 ton jack, powder chamber is DOM plugged and welded, trunnion is the ram from the jack, also welded to the base of the powder chamber. #15 Tomato sauce can is a perfect fit, with just the right amount of windage. Are you sure it's confederate?  From the sounds of it it is Itialian

it uses tomato sause cans after all............ ::)

So are you going to post some photo's of your creation?  ;D

First shooting will be within the week, and the cans will be filled with concrete, of course! But, I'll leave the label on, greater visibility while airborn! May do allright with grape shot, or cannister rounds, too. Have to test it and see...I'll post results and try for pics, too...BoomLover
