To ask that is like walking into a ford dealership and asking if a dodge is better!

I don't want to get banned or anything, but I also go to AR15.com and get some good off topic/political info.

They are mostly servicemen retired or active with some armchair commando thrown in.

Tons of technical data on firearms there. The mentality here is more my liking though. There are alot of young guys on that site and they get mouthy quick.

One thing I have noticed in my year or so on this site.  Graybeard has a way of "cutting to the chase".  I kinda' like not being politically correct.

Thought I don't frequent either as much as over here, www.thehighroad.org and www.thefiringline.com are both pretty active forums with a good member base.

Combined those two have a smaller membership base than GBO but looking at their stats man are they ever active members. I see the newest member at the firing line is our old wacko the dali llama. I wondered what ever happened to him, her, it as the case might be.

went to ar15 chat to ask some questions and it was like 15 yr olds talking sex the three times i tried it . total waste of time unless you are 15 and want to talk sex. Don't think any one there was old enough to own a weapon.

If you're looking for serious hardcore hunters head over to www.bowsite.com.  They do a good job of keeping politics, guns, and other non-hunting talk out of it.  As a result they get some of the best western big game bowhunters to post regularly.

Make that INTERNATIONAL. We have members from over 60 countries. I've long since lost count really of the number but some are just spammers who got in and got banned so shouldn't count but we have valid members from around that many.

We have a very active contingent from Canada, Australia and New Zealand and several from Africa.

Graybeards site is the best. I have four other sites listed on my favorites. Won't even say what they are. They are not worth bothering with. I have ask a lot of stupid questions on here. Always get an answer. I have only been told once that it was a stupid question. I didn't get upset about it. After thinking about it the man was right. ;D

As I had mentioned, AR15 is a bunch of young active duty types or 15 year old kids with a mix of armchair commando.

I also check out tradgang.com, but that is just traditional archery and nothing else. If you post anything that doesn't have to do with traditional archery...deleted. It has a good bunch of folks otherwise with lots of giveaways by sponsors and members. Very helpful with very good advise given.

www.marlinowners.com is an OK site especially if you shoot Marlins. I did a lot of reading and writing on it before I found this one. This site is definately more down to earth and my style. Besides, the Graybeard is a fellow Alabamian.

These two forums cover everything I'm interested in......BG
