.22 Sportster

Are the wood stocked .22 sporsters still being made? All i see on the website is the synthetic. Was visiting relatives over the weekend and my nephew had a older wood stocked one. I'm on the search for one now!

No, just syn, but any H&R stock will fit them.  ;)

Just put it out there, the other stocks will fit them, but the diameter of the 22LR Sportsters are pretty slim. which could work out to your advantage by floating it with the rubber washer. It will definately have space in the barrel channel of the forearm to cool.

My Sportster came with the synthetic stocks so I sold them in the classifieds and bought an older set of straight grip/Schnabel forend stocks and they fit perfect.

nice rifle doublebass...i should probably scope mine but i just love the way i can grab it around the reciever and carry it with the peep sight on it....

Zoner, I'm with you. My Sportster is the only rifle I have that's scoped. It's definitely a tack driver but I also love the way they carry with no scope so my others wear a peep sight.

a little off topic but i wish H+R would make the 357 barrel with a little lighter contour barrel, so the weight and balance of the rifle feels more like a sportster......now that would be cool 8)

I have a 22 mag with the syn stock. But mine is a very rare one. It's amazingly accurate. I can kill crows out to 125 yards. That's why is a very rare one.  ;D I can actually kill those crows with this gun. Yeah...me!!!

I agree, I would buy one of those in a minute. I ended up buying a .45 Colt Carbine because the weight is very nice (6 lbs. or so) and the balance is perfect. The .357's are very muzzle heavy.

i have the sportster in the synthetic stock (which i prefer) and have all three barrels fitted for it...the .22 magnum seems to be very accurate... i haven't taken the time to sort out the fodder it prefers yet... ::)...the .17 HMR...well...i'd rather not go into that right now... :(...the .22 LR... :-\
