old winchester

I haven't seen the rifle yet but someone at my job just received a winchester lever action 30/30 i dont know if its a model 92 or 94 the serial # he gave me is wc569xx now i thought winchester only used numbers in there serial  so if correct if its a model 94 i figure 1896 and if its a model 92 i figure 1894 . any thoughts on this , i should be seeing the rifle tomorrow. I went to the dates of manufacturer site  and thats where i got those dates from but if you put in the serial # with the wc first it kicks back 1982 .any info you could give me before i see this rifle? Just a thought could this be a late model winchester commemorative and thats where the WC on the serial number is ?

If it's a .30-30 must be a '94 cuz the '92 is pistol rounds only.

Ok thanks i haven't seen the rifle yet but i do beleive its a win. comm. buffalo bill model probibly manufactured in the 1980's I am almost sure thats what the wc in the serial # means. But i got really excited when i saw the five digit number as ii thought i had a model 94 from 1896.
