Why is it that every so often you need to reregister on these forums . I can get back on Graybeards  but not on Marlins and no way of Contacting any one there to see what is up.
Harry Snippe is my user name  which is already being used by a member I am advised . Yeah that is Me !!!

I had trouble there too.  I tried to register, filled out every thing, then when they sent the conformation form I could not get it to load and as you said there is no way to get in touch with anyone at the site.

Are you talking about Marlin Owner's site?

We host them on our server and they use the same software we do here. Basically that means there should be no more problems there than here but at times they do some things they really shouldn't. They are independent and can do as they wish of course but we give them advice from time to time and when they mess up too bad Matt steps in and fixes things for them.

Dave is pretty good to work with I'm sure if you'll e-mail him thru the links on their site he'll help get you fixed up. Bascially there is no reason a member should ever "have to" register again but stuff happens.

Every once in awhile I`ve had to "sign-in" even though I`ve been on it for a long time.
So, I just sign-in and am go to go for a spell.  :)   That has happened on other sites as
     well.

The problem is "who do we E- mail ? "
Do not have Dave's Address  And as well Yours too Graybeard . Once your off thesite you can not get to the members unless you know the E-mail address.
Thank you for stepping in

I've sent this thread to Dave so hopefully he'll check it out and give you some help.

Generally speaking you should be able to post in the forum set up for member help even when not logged in. I know you can here and ask for help. My e-mail address is posting lots of times and places and does not require being logged in to see it.

Here at GBO we call that forum Forums Support. I'm not sure what Dave calls it over at MO as I don't visit there very often. This site takes more time than I have to devote to it really. You can see that forum and post to it here at GBO whether logged in or not.

Well
We are back !!! The materal I was looking for in my messages are gone , but at least we are back on the board .
Mybe to some this is not really a big deal , but if your suffering from Arthritis that apparently no one can help with, and gone through the prosrate cancer thing ,and now this year the colon , it is a way to stay in touch with what is going on with hunting Etc , when you can no longer be out there .
My ol' hunting buddie found a new home today, since I do not have much use of the right arm. Doctors say things might get worse , with the last round of Meds they are going to try, but not to expect to much .
You can let things eat you up and this ol' Marlin 35 RC sitting around getting oiled and polished every other day watching out the window , was getting me down . So today that rifle has a new home , and by the looks of it , it will get the affection it got- with me.
So Graybeard , ol' Happy Harry with the white beard ,would like to say thank you very much , and too to you Larry for taking the time .
Tomorrow I am sure will be another bright and beauiful day. Lets all be thankful for what we have .

Well I just about swore again .
I went to the forum and again could not get on . THEY CHANGED IT AGAIN .
I just asked WHERE AND ON WHAT LINE CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR HANDLE OR NAME ???
Well they just changed it !!! then when to the E-mail -and saw they changed it for me .
If they just answer the question asked in the E-mail  instead of just going something - Life would be grand !!

I am very frustrated with them to say the least . If it was working so Why the  ???_ _ _ K change it???

It would be great if the forums would just asign you a # as they do with Bear tooth . Then you could  just use it as I have for years with them . Never do they inform me that " MY USER NAME DOES NOT EXIST!! NOR THAT MY PASSWORD IS INCORRECT. USER NAME IS ALREADY USED BY A MEMBER . !!!!!

At bearthooth just pop in your number and GUESS What ?   " Hi Harry "

If the form  wants to get you off site Just E-mail the message .
Enough SAID

You nor any other member can at their own will change a username..  Only Administrators or Global Mods can..   This is in place for a reason..

I just sent you an email explaining what happened.. I don't drag stuff from one forum to another..    but I will make an exception once.,...  setting up two accounts on a site with 11K+ members I sure can't remember everyone ..  you have used both accounts  and using the email to track down your account I got the 2nd account info and was changing info it that one  ..  You should be set as I have deleted one of your accounts  ( Harry Snippe account does not exist anymore, we don't allow members to have two accounts  )  .   Happy account you requested and have used  is a go..  use the new password I assigned to you to sign in and change it to what you like.. .

Sorry about the mix up and your medical problems but others ( including me ) have them too..

When I set up with Graybeards the user name was accepted and so was the password .Been this way thank God for years
Gray beard was asked this week, if some one would inform you there was problem
.Now your getting ticked with me. :(not the software)
Still if only we could step by step sort this out on Marlin owners we would go through it there

What you advise is that there are two accounts . Well there appears to be a problem , and we are at it still.

I am sure there is only one with Graybeards and always sign in the same way.No problem here .
So would you please do something with your software or have some one help cause we are just at it the wrong way.

 :D

Thank you very very much .
Everything is working just fine now.
Some days are better than others .
Larry had his hands full getting this all sorted out , and good for me , he stuck with it .
What more can we ask of no better Man? Going the extra mile , things always get sorted .
Computer programs are hard to sort out at times . thinking some thing is going to work out as planned , does not always get you there . I know full well retired as a Mechanic and working on cars. Some days a chip would act up and you could spend a day trying to get it sorted out . I take it the forums too can get to you the same way.
It takes some one time and staying with it gets the job done.Larry did just that.
Thank you also again to Graybeards for letting us post here .

Well, I just want to say that like the GBO forums, the Marlin forum is one heck of a great place and is administered and moderated by an excellent group of individuals. There, now I feel better getting that off my chest. ;)

I am very very pleased as it all worked out . It took a bit of time  but it is worth it .

For awhile though I thought I end up with Mary-lou as a handle . Opps !! best be quiet before Graybeard does just that !!!

You Know being born Dutch and raised Canadain , I must say . NEVER MET AN AMERICAN
                                                  I DID NOT LIKE.

I too are are on more than just one . Some days it is too much , but generery there is some thing of interst some where .
I am bothered wirh Arthritis , and some days the pain is more than I can bear . The forums help those days .

Some days I am not too bad and can get out for a few hours . So Far a few hours bird hunting , then soon big game . this will be limited to a few hours a day on a Atv or maybe the first watch .

In any case don't give up !!.I intend to hunt until about an hour or so before they put me in the box and plant !!
