Well folks got to be totally honest squirrel hunted with my benjamin 392 yesterday and today.got a BSA scope on it and Diablo pellets.Didnt hit a thing .Think im jerking the trigger ,sighted it in at 25 yds 1 inch groups but woods thick and squirrels tough to hit . been squirrel hunting w/.410 for years thought I try something more challenging .Even lightened my trigger pull .How long can they stay pumped (6 pumps) while walking around in woods ? wlii they loose power ?Any help appreciated

I've taken a lot of rabbits, squirrels and ground squirrels out to about 35 yards with mine, and can consistently make head shots. Make sure the pellets are the same type you used to sight in with - maybe you just need a bit more time to get use to the gun, it is capable. Are you using the same number of pumps when sighting in that you use while hunting? That can change the POI. I pump mine up eight times for sighting and for hunting. You can leave it pumped all day without a power loss. Good luck with it.

Duane,

While it's been a number of years since I had a pump I would say that as long as the seals were in good shape it shouldn't loose power to quickly.  I have pump pistols that I have had hold their power for a few hours without loss of air(at least not so that I could tell the difference).  A good scope will increase your accuracy but you might do some practicing shooting up at angles that you would at squirrels.  I set a few targets up in trees and did some practicing and I learned that the pellets would fly higher than I expected.  Just a though.  Let us know how things work out.  Lawdog
