vanguard synthetic
« on: September 12, 2009, 11:36:28 AM »
a couple months ago i bought a weatherby 30-06 synthetic with a tan and black stock from wally world. i had been looking at it for a while and was waiting to see if they would drop the price on it because the dept. manager told me the weapon had been in the store for three years and wouldn't sell because of the color of the stock. they cut the price fifty dollars and i picked it up. it has the target in the box with the three shot group. since then weatherby has put the rifle on sale for $399.00 and it has a black stock. on their website i read in their Q&A section that they don't put the target in the box with these weapons, i guessed to save money. my question is do you all think the weapon i bought (still nib) is of better quality than these $399.00 guns? i didn't care about the color cause i know white tail are color blind.

I recently bought a Wby399 in 25/06. With just a little trigger work it is shooting under an inch at 100yds. It came with the target in the box that measured .943". I haven't been hunting since I bought it,but I have no doubts that it will get the job done. Whether the quality of your earlier rifle is better,I can't say; however, if yours shoots as well as mine you've got a winner!
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!
IF YOU'RE GONNA GET OLD,YOU BETTER BE TOUGH!! GETTIN' OLD AIN'T FOR SISSIES!!!
