So the bolt action shotgun gun is that a H&R gamegetter(or is it called gamester?) is that a 12 ga or....

The bolt is a 1952 H&R Gamester 12ga. and is a very good shooting gun. scout4<><

Just bought a 1948 H&R gamester 12 ga last week, I also have one in 16 ga as well, now if someone finds one in 20ga or 410, I would be set..... thanks for sharing the photos....

You're welcome! I really didn't know they made the gamester in 1948. Does it have the adjustable choke? scout4<><

nope 30 inch barrel and full choke only!!! man she throws a tight pattern! I had a ground squirrel that just disappeared at 15 yards from one shot from her.  Man, she is massive beast. The 16 ga I have is the same way, full choke and she can shoot only difference is it has a 28 inch barrel

Yeah, some of those old bolt shotguns where a canon. I'm thinking that my was made for hunting everything. I can adjust that choke from full right to cylinder bore! It also has what they called a sight dome, just ahead of the chamber. I tried shooting a few foster type rifled slugs without that dome and shot way low. I put the dome back on and tried again, shooting off the bench at 35yds. put the slugs right in there, right where you want for deer, so it does work! 2 3/4" Remington game loads #6's patterns very good also! scout4<><

you know its funny that we have been talking about these. I just found a marlin slugster(rifled bolt action box mag) slug gun. Over all condition is unbelievable with the exception that someone lost the safty detent and replaced it with a small bolt. I gave the guy the info for where to order the parts and told him that if he fixed it, I would purchase it. Price is 200.00 and for a gun that other than the above mentioned the condition is probably considered near new to excellent. Sad thing is I dont even shoot slug guns as our state allows high power rifles for deer.....

Thanks for sharing the pic. Nice looking shotguns! I also have some yellow birch in my woodpile for this winter. Of all the wood available, I like using yellow and white birch in my Napolean woodstove.
