20 gauge pardner
« on: September 16, 2009, 03:04:46 PM »
I saw a 20 gauge pardner at a pawn shop that looked like it was in good shape. it had the schnabel forend and pistol grip stock for 100 dollars. do you think that it is a decent or good deal. if i buy it i would like to change the stock to a straight stock. what are your opinions?

100.00 is a fair price if in good condition. I can get them all day long at 115.00, I would probably see if you can talk them down to around 80.00. I got one not long ago at 65.00, although not the best condition (stock was rough) finish was very good and bore was excellent......

That's a bit high for a used Pardner, they sell for $110-$115 NEW here, Bud's sells em for $129 shipped.

Prices are different in different areas of the country, but here in Houston I think you could get a used plain-jane pardner for certainly less than $75 in most any pawn shop, maybe $50.
And, if you are going to change the stock anyway....that'll cost you.
If you could live with a youth-length straight stock, why not buy the 20 ga. youth gun? For about $130 new?

My local Wal-Mart has them new for $127.

I picked up a youth model for my son for 55.00 out the door. Slap on a new stock from the closet and another nice one in the rack! btw the 22 inch barrel is about perfect for grouse!
