Something to keep in mind
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:47:10 AM »
Not only did Sen Gillibrand turn traitor to gun owners, she did the same to all Americans. Sen Gillibrand was one of 7 senators who decided to vote in favor of perpetual funding of the crime syndicate ACORN, even though 77 senators realized the criminal activities goinng on and voted to discontinue funding that mob.
She joined the likes ofthe two Vermont senators Leahy and the avowed Socialist one, Barney Saunders.

I remember your words well GB, I also can read her political plot very well. She came from an area of NY which is relatively conservative and was appointed to represent all of NY, which is very leftist. In order to be appointed, she had to renounce her earlier "convictions" in order to move up in politics. You saw through her quite well indeed.
This should be a lesson for all of us about professional politicians.."it's all about ME....not the people!"

Look at a map of NY; take all the cities and paint them blue, paint the rest of the state red and you have a good picture. Unfortunately those small geographic areas have more votes than the rest of the state. Other states, such as Oregon, Washington, even California suffer from trhe same problem.

So the turncoat Gillibrand, is likely quite safe now..trading her "principles" for a senatorial job.

I doubt she ever had those "principles" to begin with. She just did what she needed to get elected and stay in that conservative area while waiting for a chance to become her REAL SELF.

I think they understand but just don't care or perhaps don't feel it applies to them.

This reminds me of an old Massachusetts politician who said that when he was first elected he wanted to make some changes and fight for the people, so to speak. He was told by the others how things are run. If you don't go along you will not get re-elected.

I suspect it is the same with the NY senator. She may come from a conservative area but the fact remains she is in the capitol district of Albany and they are more allied with NYC and the liberal elite.

"I think they understand but just don't care or perhaps don't feel it applies to them".

You Sir, are correct.  They simply do not care and firmly believe it does not apply to them.

And toast or not, it won't stop her from trying to run again.  Look at our accidental governor as a example - even though he is far enough down in the polls to give neu yawk's mousillini (cuomo) a shot at the office and even though hobama has asked him not to run, he's still gonna run.

This ain't hutspa, it's just crass ny politics.

Damnit, we need a revolution here.

Yes indeed we do. I think it's coming as soon as enough folks wake up and realize what the folks elected to represent them are doing TO not FOR them.

Yeah right, fat chance of that happening short of that revolution Mikey mentions.

Politicians in general are accomplished liars...No matter the party affiliation.  Although it seems that the party that one dislikes the most is the one that is accused of such, more often than not.

Sometime back I wrote my Congressman in NY to oppose a certain gun law which was circulating in Washington. He wrote back that he has two little children and would like to see the law enacted since it will make his children safer!! P.S.-he also voted FOR Acorn.
Then there was that famous anti-gun congresswoman  from Long Island. She introduced a law to ban shrouds on all rifles. A reporter asked her what a "shroud" was-she didn't have a clue.  If, that little angry Napoleon Cuomo gets in you can kiss your firearms and hunting good-bye in NY

 Kitchawan;
Oh how I wish that were true!  ...But you know the voting record of the "big cities"...and they sure outnumber us..
Do you know what area she represented..don't give me a congressional district # that won't help, just wondered juist what counties/towns she represented in congress. Man..they must feel really betrayed !

She represented the "up state" area of rural folks who's core values are much like ours here. She had them fooled quite well but in fairness to them did pretty much vote as they'd want at least enough to keep them satisfied to keep her in office. I think she saw it as a stepping stone to where she now is all along.

GB, you are right. She was "supposed" to represent upstate new york and talked the talk. Then when opportunity knocked, the party issued a statement that went something to the effect that she has a much broader group of people to represent now and has to "rethink" gun issues.
I think that means that those of us ass....., who cling to our bibles and guns are  xxxxx out of luck.

Do I get booted if I swear in here?

Just Like every other NY Politician that ever came up through the ranks. I Can't believe "we the People" just keep letting this happen to us time after time. I wanted to buy my Daughter a lifetime Hunting License but can't bring myself to do it. I don't think she will have a whole lot of hunting and shooting to make it worth while.

Lifetime hunting lcense for NY....
I had thought about that..but decided this was a game developed by the NY State liberals. Sell all the "lifetime" hunting licenses they can, before their stupid politics and ridiculous taxes drives everybody OUT of NY State.

Before you invest, consider if your daughter is likely to spend her life in NY....

You know, sometimes I can get cantankerous. :) I know, I know..It's hard to believe, but another thought occured to me.
Your daughters will most likely be here until they are 18, maybe longer for college. A life time license may lead to more hunting and fishing and more time with Dad outdoors. She may even find classmates who can become interested too. The more time she spends with you, the better adult she will become.
Herb Parsons once said " if you hunt with your son(daughter), you will never have to hunt for them".
As much as I hate what the politicians have done to our rights, a lifetime license for her may be money well spent.
