Kendrick Contender Barrel
« on: September 21, 2009, 06:21:24 AM »
I'm trying to put a scope base on one, and the Weaver 92A base won't line up with the second pair of holes(second pair is spaced about .75-1" further out).
Anyone know where I can find a 2 piece base or the correct 1 piece?
Thanks,
Wiley

I would suggest you post a picture of the holes and pattern. Maybe add dimensions.

Or check with the manufacturer if they are still around.

Take a look here.  GB gives good directions on how to put pictures in you posts.

It worked and I still dont know how! I did find 2 products from Williams Gunsight: Universal bases and rings and Streamlined rings. The Universal bases have non weaver rings and multiple screw spacings. Streamline rings are made to bolt directly to the barrel. Since no one seems to publish dimensions for their stuff, it's buy and try!

A low cost solution would be to drill, or have your gunsmith drill, a couple of more holes in that Weaver base....

Get exact center to center dimensions of the holes in the barrel. Send me the base and I will drill and counterbore it for you. No prob....all it will cost you it postage.

skb2706, Thanks! I have the Williams stuff coming and will try it first. If that's a no go, I can fire up the drill press, mainly I just didn't want to overlook a simple solution that involved another base.

If you do end up drilling, be sure to check the screw size.  I took some low Conetrol bases/rings off of a Texas Contenders barrel in order to mount a larger scope and as I recall the screws are larger than the stock T/C screws, maybe a #8 instead of the #6 standard ones.

RonF: Thanks, but these are the standard 6-48, the Weaver screws fit fine (where the holes are!) I did dig out a 30 Herrett Kendrick barrel and it also uses #6 and the screw holes do correctly line up for a 92A. Looks like they just did what they did!
