(Fabulous, yes, but the bearded ones in ZZ Top still win the competition.)

And I was just thinking today it's time to shorten my beard again.  It's gotten so long that it is getting stuck in the metal buckles on my Carhart Bibs.  Ouch!  That hurts.

Actuall I like the third photo down, the guy on the right.

I'm 28, and I only have to shave once a week. :'( I wish I could grow a beard, but all I get is the "Joe Dirt" look. :-[

I enjoy looking at beards---the pictures are a fun look.
For my taste and my feeling I prefer a short beard. I trim mine to 1/16 with an electric trimmer.
In summer I trim against the grain and in winter, same length but with the grain.
I do this at least once a week--sometimes twice.

I have worn a beard for nearly 30 years, it is normally trimmed to about 1/2 inch.  Once I did let it grow, it was out to six-seven inches and looking good.  At the time I was repairing a boat, I was very hot and I was doing some fiberglassing on the underside, the sweat was flowing.  Not thinking I reached up to wipe the sweat away while my hand was covered in resin, needless to say the beard was cut to about a 1/4 inch that night.

A real definition of pain:  Getting your beard caught between the recoil pad on your rifle and your shoulder.  The heavier the recoil the greater the pain.

I speak from experience.

I've had a full mustache for 40 yrs. but I make it about a week with the beard and about itch to death.  If I could ever get past the week, maybe it wouldn't itch so bad....

I've had a beard since not long after my wife and I met. I told her I was about to shave it off and she said I couldn't do it because the beard feels better than stubble when kissing. That seemed like a good reason to keep it.

I've had a short trimmed beard since I got out of the military in 86.  It helps to hide my weak chin  :D   I just look better with it.

On the topic of beards, there's the old idea of a comb-over for the extremely bald. I can see growing a long beard and then combing it over the top of the head. It can't look any worse that any other comb-over. Could also comb it straight up over my face so that I look like the wolfman.
