IN deer hunting arsenal

Hello everyone,
  I wanted to share with you my IN deer hunting arsenal.  Just looking for feedback to see what everyone has and what works best.

H&R Handi rifles/shotguns:
.45LC  choice load: Barnes 225gr XPB loaded by CorBon
.357 Mag  choice load: 158gr Speer Gold Dot loaded by Buffalo Bore
.500 S&W  not loaded or used yet

.20ga ULSH  only shot 6 times  need more range time
.410 pardner  choice load: Brenekke 3" slugs  *this gun has not been used for a few years now ;)

Ruger .44 Mag Carbine
choice load: Hornady 240gr XTP factory load

Newest addition: H&R Handi rifle 45-70 22" (bought new for $170)  load: undetermined, but for deer I will use the 45-70 Shorts(1.625")  ;)

Winchester 1200 smoothbore 20ga slug barrel
choice load: 3" Brenekke Rottweil slugs

2002 Mathews Q2 29" 60#

I have killed nice deer with the .45LC, .44Mag, .410ga, and the Win 20ga. I am drifting away from using shotguns now that we have been permitted to use the pistol caliber rifles.

              45 Colt Buffalo Classic - New for this year - 240gr XTP Mag
              357 Magnum - Stepdaughters Rifle - 180gr XTP

T/C Encore:
              357 Magnum 8" Bull - Bullberry - 158gr SWC-GC
              45 Colt 8" Bull - Bullberry - 255gr SWC
              12 Rifled Slug 24" - Hornady 250gr SST Sabots

I have used the following all on the Encore Platform in the last 5 years:
               480 Ruger 12" - 325gr Speer
               260 Remington 15" 120gr Rem PSP-CL
               308 Winchester 15" - 130gr Hornady SP
               500 S&W Mag 20" - 350gr Sierra
               209x50 26" - 250gr Hornady SST

I am in the process of building a 12-14" 6.5 TCU for next year.

I currently hunt with my Puma 92 44mag 20" stainless.  It has one 8pt buck to it's credit.  I highly recommend the rifle especially for under 100 yard hunting.

 My son daughter and I use the following, depending on the mood.

  Mossberg 500
     12 is my favorite, lost count on the deer. NONE have ever walked away.
     20 boys favorite +2
     410 daughters (anemic maybe) one really nice buck and 2 does
            Really like the Mossbergs, ya know they will rattle a deer right to ya!
  H&R
     .44 mag
     20 ultra slug(see profile pict ;))
     
  Knight Disc(original) multiple deers

  For this year
   I have a T/C Contender with a 14" bull .357 Maximum barrel. Extremely accurate with .357 mag 240gr.Have .357max ammo on the way ;D

 watching for a .357 H&R barrel (will be a maxi)

Which season I hunt depends on what I bring with me from MI.  The past few years I have hunted black powder season opener with my brother, still living just south of Patoka Lake.  So for this trip I switch the T/C to the .50 cal.  I love sitting all day on a ladder stand I usually haul with me.  The T/C shoots like a dream and covers LOTS of hillside and 'holler'.

If I can figure out how to scan pictures and get them on here, I will show you some southern IN bucks

I have a T/C Encore .45 cal muzzleloader using 295 gr. T/C sabots sitting on top of 100 grains of Triple 7.

I also have a 12 and a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 that I have used. The 20 is the only one to take a deer though.

I am looking to trade a .270 Winchester Mod 70 for a lever .357 if i can find one and someone willing to trade.

   I'd try selling your rifle in the peddlers post or in the classifieds online.  Budsgunshop.com has Puma 92's brand new delivered to your FFL for under $350.  It's an incredible deal going on.

3 - 12 gauge pumps - two Ithaca model 37's and a Remington 870
357 Max in a Handi
44 mag in Handi, T/C, Marlin 1895 and a couple of handguns - One a T/C and the other a Virgina Dragoon.

I have several unrifled slug guns, a Contender in 35 Remington, several muzzleloaders inline and traditional and a NEF in 44 magnum. I am well covered as to firearms but know little about the hunting in Indiana. I expect to hunt in Brown county next year hopefully.  What is a common distance for a shot?

Usually less than 100yds. Call me biased, but the NEF .44Mag will work just fine. ;)

Bought, sold, traded, hunted with,  a big truckload of firearms for deer hunting in Indiana and now have added Wisconsin so had to buy some more to hunt with up there. Too numerous to count but my current favorite muzzleloader is a PacNor barreled Savage in a factory laminated stock with a Leupold VX III 3.5x10 B&C crosshairs mounted in Leupold QD rings and bases. This rifle shoots the 195 Barnes MZ into one inch at 200 yards and that is exactly my farthest deer kill with it. My favorite handgun is a new addition and a Ruger Red Hawk 5.5 inch stainless in 44 mag to match up with my Marlin 1894 44mag stainless. My favorite high power is a 740 Remington Woodsmaster with a custom stock and 2x7 Burris scope. This rifle will shoot unbelievable groups with factory Remington 30-06 ammo. I have two slug guns one is a 12 gauge Browning Gold Hunter full camo with a 2x7 Leupold heavy crosshair scope. It shoots 3 inch BRI standard velocity slugs into a cloverleaf at 50 yards. The other is an H&R 20 gauge Ultra with a 1.5 to 4.5 Bushnell heavy cross hair scope that shoots Remington copper solids into one hole at 50 yards. None of these are for sale.

Well...... I dun it again.....  I slipped, fell, and accidentally bought a new rifle. 

I noticed that Budsgunshop was out of all the 92's for less than $400 so I got one of their last ones on gunbroker.  I've been wanting a 24" 92 that I can put ladder sights on eventually.  This one is Blued/Case Hardened and I'm really looking forward to seeing it when it arrives.  Early Christmas for me, by accident of course.

  If you are looking for a particular gun, let me know. I deal with a small gun shop down the road from a bass pro store and Dicks sporting goods. They have been there for a few years, still selling reguardless of the big stores so close. They are not a sponsor here so I wont post thier info, But if you shoot me a note I will share thier info privately.

 Couple weeks ago they had puma levers in .454 .44 .357. I wanted one of each, but momma said funds say no :'(

 Anyhoo, They will do transfers, so I am pretty sure if you call they will ship(I can check if anyone is curious)

 They are in Clarksville Indiana, just up from Louisville ky
