Not sure if the Bisley hammer will be better or worse! I have several of them, and I know when shooting them in CAS matches the lower hammer on those Bisleys are much more prone to short stroking. That hammer shape will hit the web of your hand with a high grip, and that is without gloves.
I never try to stop someone from getting a new gun, but you may try to find one first before you go with the Bisley. Also, you can simply get a new hammer for your Blackhawk if that is the way you want to go.
I think if I was trying to keep that hammer from getting caught in the web of a glove, higher would be better than lower. For that, you may want to look at the Ruger New Vaquero in 45 Colt. They have a higher hammer to facilitate faster two handed shooting for CAS, and my be just the ticket.
