New knife...

I picked up a new knife the other day...



Appears to be a Cold Steel SRK, someone stripped the black coating and fit a stag handle to. Nice knife, thought I would share...

A very nice knife, like my dad always said theres three things a man always needs, a knife, a gun, and a hankerchief.  And I sure agree with him on that.

I've found that I like the ability of carbon steel over stainless in blades for cooking knives.  They seem to get sharper, and stay sharper.  How about caring for them though.  Is this a non stainless blade?

It's a COLD STEEL, SRK, CARBON V blade. Unsure if its stainless or not...

Carbon V is their cute little name for 50100-B carbon steel.  One of the better carbon's out there, I don't know if it's still made.

I really like the blade!
 I have looked at the current SRK models and am fermilular with thereentire line. The new ones do not say carbon V. I also do not see any in there line..

They don't make that steel anymore.
